I am conducting research on the biogeography and evolution of birds from East Asia.
Why are bird migratory routes so tremendous and diverse? I am studying the diversification process of migratory routes from biogeographic perspectives.
The East Asia-Australasiaan Flyway is the world's largest migratory route, yet most of their routes are still undiscovered. We are working on a project to uncover the migratory routes of various species across Japan while recruiting co-researchers and research collaborators across the globe.
I promote conservation ecology by understanding the ecology of migratory birds endemic to the Japanese archipelago.
